The Wonderful World of Wheels (1966)

Ryan’s good discussion starter about plastics in early hot rods, customs and race cars, and that reminded me of just one of the early pioneers of bubble major plastic domes on customs, Monthly bill Cushenbery. His quite initial scratch-created creation was the legendary ‘Silhouette’ which went on to be a multiple-present winner, a Sizzling Wheel, and an AMT product package. Monthly bill built it as a completely driveable, roadworthy development, and that is why it was featured in this CBS Television set Particular from September of 1966 referred to as ‘The Excellent Environment of Wheels”, with Lloyd Bridges as your host. The whole movie is actually worth a view for the 60s go-karts, slot cars, dune buggies, clearly show cars and trucks, and extra. Lloyd drives the Silhouette through the opening sequence along the Pacific Coastline Freeway and at moments during the display. While this video has been shared on the HAMB ahead of, I imagined it was worthy of sharing once more, and highlighting the tailor made car or truck & sizzling rod moments for you:
