70 year old man found dead at Sumter auto repair shop

The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning.

SUMTER, S.C. — A gentleman was observed shot and killed at his automotive shop in Sumter early Tuesday early morning. 

According to the Sumter Sheriff’s Office, 70-calendar year-outdated Willie McDuffie from Lee County was found dead in his automobile maintenance store.

On Tuesday early morning July 19, 2022, close to 8:30am, deputies from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Business, along with EMS staff, responded to a company alongside the 1500 block of Airport Street in reaction to an unconscious male observed inside the building. 

Deputies and EMS identified the subject was deceased from gunshot wounds and contacted the Coroner’s Place of work.

He was uncovered by a household member inside of the office environment. 

Sheriff Anthony Dennis said, “This enterprise is a tiny close knit team of household and friends, and they used their skills to support other people. We are trying to confirm motive but so much, McDuffie’s death makes no feeling. We have a full group of investigators performing on this case. Whoever is dependable for this senseless demise requirements to be held accountable. I am inquiring any individual in the community, anybody that knew this loved ones, if there’s a little something my investigators require to know, contact this business office.
